{"id":13936,"date":"2023-09-26T15:27:54","date_gmt":"2023-09-26T15:27:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esgtoday.com\/?p=13936"},"modified":"2023-09-26T15:29:26","modified_gmt":"2023-09-26T15:29:26","slug":"ecovadis-launches-solution-to-enable-companies-to-track-product-carbon-emissions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esgtoday.com\/ecovadis-launches-solution-to-enable-companies-to-track-product-carbon-emissions\/","title":{"rendered":"EcoVadis Launches Product Carbon Emissions Tracking Solution"},"content":{"rendered":"<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-13936\" data-postid=\"13936\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-13936 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->\n\n\n<p>Business sustainability ratings provider EcoVadis announced today the launch of the the EcoVadis Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) Data Exchange, a new feature in its Carbon Action Module solution, aimed at enabling companies to more precisely track product-level greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to EcoVadis, the new feature aims to address one of the key barriers to companies\u2019 carbon reduction strategies, enabling emissions reporting for products and services purchased across the supply chain, with suppliers often reporting their overall carbon footprint, but buyers lacking the precise data to determine the portion of those emissions attributable to their purchases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new solution uses the Partnership for Carbon Transparency\u2019s (PACT) standards-based Pathfinder Framework, and allows product carbon footprint tracking across EcoVadis\u2019 network of suppliers, which include 40,000 that are engaged in carbon action, according to the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to EcoVadis, using the solution, organizations can request and collect product carbon footprint data from suppliers and work collaboratively to identify emissions reduction opportunities, help suppliers build PCF capabilities with a dedicated course from EcoVadis, and compare PCF data across the supplier network based on global standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Julia Salant, General Manager, Carbon Solution at EcoVadis, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cProduct carbon footprint data is the holy grail of carbon reporting.
