{"id":14404,"date":"2023-11-09T15:28:14","date_gmt":"2023-11-09T15:28:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esgtoday.com\/?p=14404"},"modified":"2023-11-09T15:28:15","modified_gmt":"2023-11-09T15:28:15","slug":"nuveen-appoints-nick-moss-as-head-of-nature-based-solutions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esgtoday.com\/nuveen-appoints-nick-moss-as-head-of-nature-based-solutions\/","title":{"rendered":"Nuveen\u00a0Appoints Nick Moss as Head of Nature Based Solutions"},"content":{"rendered":"<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-14404\" data-postid=\"14404\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-14404 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->\n\n\n<p>Investment manager Nuveen announced today the appointment of Nick Moss as Head of Nature Based Solutions within its land-focused asset management platform, Nuveen Natural Capital (NNC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based in London, Moss will be responsible for driving NNC\u2019s nature based solutions investment strategy across farmland, forestry and ecological restoration, with a focus on reducing the environmental impact and carbon footprint of commercial production processes, as well as protecting existing and restoring damaged habitats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Skye Macpherson , Global Head of Asset Management, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cNick has a wealth of experience within natural capital investments and strong relationships with business, financial institutions, donors, governments and development finance institutions. He will play a pivotal role in continuing to grow our natural capital and nature based solutions offering, and providing the technical expertise to manage our holdings efficiently, sustainably and to the highest standards.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The appointment follows the launch of NNC last year by Nuveen, as part of the firm\u2019s Real Assets platform. The unit currently manages $12.4B of assets and over three million acres across in 10 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moss brings over 15 years\u2019 experience in leading investment and technical advisory services across forestry, agriculture and climate finance. Prior to joining Nuveen, he led the design and delivery of the AGRI3 strategy, an initiative of Rabobank and UNEP, aimed at mobilizing $1 billion in public and private investment in&nbsp; forest conservation and sustainable agriculture. In this role, Moss led the team in the design, fundraising, origination, and portfolio management of sustainable agriculture and nature based climate solutions across Latin America, Asia and Africa for the business.
